Health IT Resources

• Help with EHR Selection, Installation, and Adoption: ASCO has several resources to help oncologists with the issues surrounding EHR adoption. This includes the ASCO Field Guide, a 64-page guide that helps oncology professionals select and implement current and future EHRs;
• Understanding the Government Incentive Programs: The federal government has two incentive programs that deal with health IT. ASCO has some online guides to help physicians understand the implications of these programs;
• Recommended HIT Standards and Policy Positions: ASCO has worked to set technical standards for EHRs in oncology and also been actively commenting on government legislation.
