Depending on what is purchased, training is provided on site for physicians, physicists, and system super users for the Oncology Information System and for the linear accelerator and associated software. Remote modules can also be purchased. Offsite education and training options are available for clinical training ( IGRT, SBRT) for physicians, physicists, and radiation therapists and for technical training on the linear accelerator for engineering and physics. Depending on what type of equipment is purchased, trainers are usually on site for four days during the initial go live week. This is to provide initial training and go live support during the first treatments on the machine. If multiple locations are involved then trainers will be scheduled accordingly.
Do you provide any guarantees regarding the ability of a practice to meet meaningful use requirements? No
Elekta intends to provide software that meets or exceeds the various requirements for meaningful use and will allow eligible providers to successfully demonstrate their compliance with the measures. The guidelines, however, are clear in that the providers and their teams are ultimately responsible for capturing accurate data and ensuring that this data is entered correctly into their EHR.

Which formulary does your product use? Elekta provides a formulary where sites can create their own formulary list. The formulary is driven by FDB if installed.
Does the system allow users to add drugs that may not be in the original database? Yes
The system allows a drug that does not exist in the FDB database. The drug in the formulary will be flagged as a drug that does not have interaction checking.
How are drug allergies and adverse reactions recorded and integrated into the prescribing module? Elekta uses a third party product called FirstDatabank (FDB) as a knowledge base. When allergies are entered the drug names and information are pulled from FDB. When a user enters and order they can manually screen the orders. In addition when an order is marked Approved, automatic screening takes place. FDB screens for drug-drug, drug allergies and duplicate drug therapy and provides a pop up message with details that the user must acknowledge and sign off.
