The biggest mistake we made as physicians was delegating the choice of EHR systems to our practice management without vetting it ourselves. The contract had fine print that took us to a website listing all of the onerous, Draconian provisions of the agreement and leaving the EHR vendor liable for NOTHING! There is no guarantee of the functionality of the system, and the contract leaves them with no blame in anything. An attorney needs to carefully review any EHR vendor contract before it is signed. |
