I think it's as good as anything else on the market for a small practitioner like myself. There's a version of the EHR with a great patient portal and other features, but it's prohibitively expensive for our practice. 89 months ago 0
The transition from a written record, with more flexibility, customizability and familiarity has been a difficult one. 89 months ago 0
Really can't judge the efficacy of EHR because I've just started using it. It is very challenging, because of its complexity, so it is kind of a game. I doubt that psychiatry will allow EHR to be very useful because our data are almost always unreliable so we do narrative and not 'yes'/'no' questions. In any case it's too new to provide an assesment of it now. 90 months ago 0
I have had extended experience with a few other EHR's and our current one is far superior. We had to go through a very difficult change over from our previous system, PsychNotes, which was extremely unsatisfactory. I would not recommend it to anyone. You should ask for reviews of EHRs from prior experiences, like mine. Many of us have had them by now. 90 months ago 0
I am in solo practice, in a building w/other psychiatrists who also use this system. I am pleased to have attested to meaningful use. I am pleased that Valant worked out the challenges with the change in mental health codes. The change to DSM5 will be the next hurdle. I am very disappointed that Valant hasn't set up a lab interface, though it is "being tested." 90 months ago 0
