|From discussions with other physicians at national meetings, there is NO EHR that is worth using. Computers should be used to gather data, not create medical records for most primary care physicians. For anyone who feels these worthless charts are useful, let them use it. For those of us who realize the inherent dangers and see real time evidence of the dangers of patient safety - in the outpatient, but especially in the in-patient setting - let these things go extinct!!! Patient care is much safer and better utilizing the paper charting method -- and then if storage is an issue, simply scan records into a system.
