Our EHR reduces quality of patient care. The personal rapport has been replaced by data entry, the notes do not allow for nuances between different patients and depersonalizes simple problems and does not flesh out enough the complex cases for them to be useful to myself let alone others. I have abandoned all but the ePrescribing function and have my MA manage all of the meaningful use data. I dictate all of my notes. I would go back to paper charts tomorrow if I were in solo practice. |

The only satisfactory aspect of this EMR is its prescription writing element and that does not always work well. It has allowed our practice to meet meaningful use targets. The money received for this has not begun to approach the amount of money that we have spent on the system or the loss in productivity that our practice has experienced. |
