As a dental professional who earned 2 Certifications in HIT when first introduced, I am sorely disappointed that almost nothing has been done to integrate other health care providers into the PCP model. The mouth is often an indicator or disease or unhealthy habits. One receives optimal evaluation when oral care and medical care are integrated. Isn’t that the goal from the onset of this program?
